Operation Muskie provides recent combat veterans with the fishing trip of a lifetime on Lake of the Woods. Each year this event pairs a new group of 20 vets with 10 of the world's greatest fishing guides for an all-expenses-paid, fully-guided "welcome home" at world-famous Baystore Camp.
Now is the time to apply! Operation Muskie 2012 is scheduled for 25-29 June 2012.
Eligible veterans must have deployed OCONUS in direct support of combat operations since 2001. If selected, you may be asked to provide proof of military service dates and deployment locations (i.e., DD 214).
- Operation Muskie will select 20 Veterans from all applications received between 1 January 2012 and 29 February 2012.
- Completed applications must be emailed to OM2012@charter.net before midnight 29 February 2012
- Each selected Veteran is required to provide own transportation to and from Warroad, MN
- We will depart Warroad, MN at approximately 0900 on 25 June and return to Warroad by noon on 29 June.
- Operation Muskie will cover the costs of all lodging, meals, guides and basic fishing equipment during the trip.
- Muskie fishing experience is NOT required.
- Selections and notifications will be made by Mar 15, 2012.
- If selected as a primary or alternate to join OM 2012, you will need both a Passport and Canadian Remote Area Border Crossing (RABC) permit. Operation Muskie will assist you with the process for obtaining the RABC and passport if necessary.
